Goin to the park

So I'm going to take the kids to the park today. This SHOULD be fun, you would think. It's beautiful outside, there is a picnic table, huge open space, a play area, a trail and access to the Platte River. I always have grandiose ideas of how much fun we are all going to have doing some activity I've conjured up. I always think ahead of what we're going to do, how we are all going to laugh and get along. But for some reason, it never seems to play out that way. The kids fight, I get mad, the kids fight some more, I get mad some more, then we end up leaving, probably after being stared at by more than a couple of people. We all end up frustrated and ready to go home! Then the cycle repeats itself the following weekend.

I am determined to have fun today, though! Why I think today will be any different, I'm not sure. But I'm going to try!
