Making informed decisions is more important than making random decisions

I just had a great Tweet-versation with a woman who had very opposite views than myself.  It made me remember how important it is that we all need to understand both sides of a debate, or we can't possibly make an informed decision.  It wasn't that we were trying to change each other's minds, but rather just explaining our point of view.  Sometimes the stereotypes we have about each other really cloud our vision.  We often latch on to one word someone says and then take it completely out of context.

Debate is healthy. Screaming is not.  Just because you listen to someone and try to understand what they are saying, doesn't mean you have to agree.  It just means you are taking the time to listen and understand.  I'm just saying!  ;)
